CR Fellow Paul Lioy will deliver lecture at the University of Brescia, Italy on 19 March 2013

On 19 March 2013 CR Fellow Paul Lioy will deliver a seminar at the University of Brescia's School of Occupational Medicine. The title of his lecture is "Exposure science in the 21st century: an opportunity to improve research in occupational and environmental health sciences".

The underpinnings of the field called Exposure Science actually date back to the work of the "Father of Occupational Medicine" Bernardino Ramazzini. The lecture will build upon his powers of observation through to the development of the theoretical bases for the field and its modern measurement tools. The latter should significantly influence the environmental health sciences, and can eventually augment activities in the new field of Precision Medicine. The discussion will highlight the recently published US National research Council report on Exposure Science in the 21st century.

Paul J. Lioy, PhD is Professor and Vice Chair, Department of Environmental and Occupational Medicine, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Deputy Director of Government Relations and Director of Exposure Science, at the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute.

The lecture will be held at 14:30 in Aula D at the School of Medicine (Viale Europa, 11 - 25123 Brescia). For information contact Roberta Pezza +39 030 3995896
